The best sustainable sex toy deals to celebrate and save with this Earth Day

five sex toys on a green background

There are a lot of reasons sex toys are great, but sadly, their environmental impact isn't really one of them.

Sustainable shopping practices, like buying refurbished tech or finding products you can use for life, don't apply all that seamlessly to sex toys. But it doesn't mean that you have the choose between the environment and your vibrator.

For one thing, plenty of brands are ditching hard plastics and battery-reliant toys for silicone, rechargeable models with longer shelf (bedside table?)-lives. And while you do definitely want to remain wary of any toy brand that markets itself as easily recyclable (more on that here), there are plenty of glass and metal toys that are totally safe to use and won't sit in a landfill until the end of time.

Of course, there's really nothing more sustainable or affordable than using your hand, but if you want to add a toy or two into the mix, we've rounded up some of the best deals on eco-friendly sex toys — check out some of our favorite finds below.

Love Not War vibrators

Love Not War takes sustainability seriously, all the way from the production line to the vibrator that ends up in your hands. In their green energy-powered factory, Love Not War makes vibrators out of a base of recycled aluminum and a head out silicone. The storage bag that holds the vibe is made out of recycled bamboo fabric, and the recycleable box it's mailed in contains no single-use plastic. Plus, these vibrators have different modes, intensities, flexibility, and come with travel locks. They aren't cheaply made and their prices reflect that, but both Good Vibrations and Babeland are taking 20% off the entire line of toys.

A classic clit suction toy with an eco-friendly twist

Last year, Womanizer gave their popular Premium clitoral suction toy a green upgrade. You'll get the same 12 intensity levels, whisper-quiet Pleasure Air technology Womanizer is known for, and splash-proof fun as you would with the original, but lose some of the plastic used in the production process.

Womanzier also opted to make the Eco with Biolene, a biodegradable alternative to plastic. While this toy is definitely a step in the right direction, it is worth noting that you probably don't want to just throw it in the recycling bin when it's all said and done — for a chance at it being properly recycled, you'll need to take it to a specialist recycling center. Good thing the Womanizer is built to last.

Unbound's fun and flirty glass dildos

Speaking of toys that are built to last, let's get to know the glass dildo. We get it if the idea of putting glass inside of you gives you less-sexy-more-frightening mental images, but let us assure you, glass dildos are tough.

This pick from Unbound, Gem, is made with borosilicate glass, meaning its highly durable and won't crack with extreme temperature changes (so feel free to have a good time with temperature play). The two textures on its dual end keep things interesting, making the manual labor required to use it well worth the effort. One reviewer said incorporating the Gem into their alone time was "amazing life-changing nut busting." If you're looking for a slightly different texture, Unbound's other glass dildo, Stellar, is also on sale this weekend. Both are 15% off, both can feasibly last a lifetime, and both are nice and easily recyclable.

One of the best metal dildos in the game

Glass isn't the only one-material toy with plenty to offer. Metal dildos offer the same fun potential temperature play and with a little extra weight, which you really don't want to knock if you haven't tried.

One especially tried and true pick is the Njoy Pure Wand. Don't be deceived by this simplicity of this steel arch. It brings a pound and a half of weight and dual ends (that measure in at 1-inch and 1.5-inches respectively) that give a truly unique sensation, whether you're going for G-spot or P-spot stimulation. Using lube is never a bad idea with toys that go inside you, but this toy's smooth steel makes insertion as frictionless as humanly possible, so you probably won't need a ton. When you're all done, clean-up is beyond easy, and if for whatever reason you'd ever want to say goodbye to this toy, it can be recycled without a problem.

An upcycled rubber flogger

Get in loser, we're getting ethically kinky. Whether you're into BDSM or are just looking to incorporate some new sensations into your sex life, floggers are a great way to add some spice. Maybe at first glance this doesn't look like the most sustainable toy out there. But this Cherry Bombin Wear Rubber Flogger is vegan and handmade, and especially environmentally-friendly thanks to the wooden handle made from tree branch trimmings.

Its 28 tails can provide light to intense sensations, depending on your and your partner's preferences. It's versatile, it's upcycled, it's on sale — what more could want from a sex toy on Earth Day?
