Save 23%: Looking to save on a summertime essential? The Vorando 660 AE air circulator is on sale for $99.99 at Amazon, saving you $30 off its usual $129.99.
If there's one thing the month of August absolutely loves to do, it's remind us how hot and miserable summertime can be. For all my baddies without central air, with a window unit that doesn't get cool air to 80% of their apartment (I see you, I am you), or without any AC at all, August is especially rough.
My Vornado air circulator has kept me from melting and allowed me to get some sleep when it's still hot at night. If your tower fan isn't cutting it and you've lost faith in the ability of all fans when it's 90 degrees plus, I get you — but the Vornado is worth it. As of Aug. 8, the Vornado 660 AE, the large model compatible with Alexa, is on sale for just $99.99 at Amazon. That $30 discount on its MSRP brings it to its lowest price ever.
At first glance, the Vornado doesn't inspire a ton of joy. Its design isn't super cute, and its size leaves you wondering if this fan can really do anything comparable to a tower fan.
Yes, it can. The Vornado can circulate air up to 100 feet, covering the ground from small to medium rooms. That word circulate is important too — rather than just pushing hot air forward, this fan actually does move the air in a room around. Vornado calls it "Vortex" technology, but in my experience, that just means I've never once experienced stagnant air with my Vornado on, making it a great companion for open windows and air conditioning units or other fans that need a little extra help.
The four fan speeds range quite a bit in intensity, and the highest power does deliver, though it is likely too much background noise for bedtime. The lower powers, however, are relatively quiet. This Vornado is also Alexa-enabled, which means you can turn it on and change the speed settings remotely or set it on a schedule with the rest of your smart home.
