Earlier this month, an absolute shitstorm exploded online when HBO Max announced that actress Jameela Jamil would judge its upcoming vogueing competition show Legendary.
Cries on Twitter claimed that someone outside the house-ballroom scene, particularly someone who is not black and queer, should not judge such a competition. Jamil, for her part, responded by coming out as queer on Twitter and the discourse shifted.
