SAVE $20: Kick your K-Cup habit with the all-new Instant Solo, a single-serve coffee maker that ships with its own reusable pod. Amazon had it on sale for $79.95 as of Jan. 21 — that's 20% off its suggested retail price of $99.95.
Single-use coffee pods are canonically bad for the environment, but woe is the eco-friendly caffeine consumer who's tried finding a better alternative. Keurig's My K-Cup Universal Reusable Filter requires a separate purchase, and reviewers say it has a tough time fitting inside many of its machines. Nespresso users aren't much better off: The company doesn't make its own reusable capsule or filter, and the third-party ones out there require some trial and error for a good brew.
Enter: the Instant Solo, a new single-serve coffee maker from the makers of everyone's favorite multicooker. Not only does it ship with its own reusable coffee pod, but it also recognizes when said pod is in use and boots up a special brewing process that's designed to extract as much flavor as possible from your go-to grounds.
In the market for a new and improved coffee maker? Amazon had the Solo on sale for 20% off at the time of writing, dropping its $99.95 MSRP down to a solid $79.95 — its lowest price to date.
Other than the whole pod thing, the Solo's overall design should be immediately familiar to anyone who's used to a single-serve coffee maker before. It sports a bunch of different settings for brew strength and cup size (8, 10, or 12 ounces), plus a 40-ounce water reservoir for minimal trips to the sink. Its brew time also sits at a trim 90 seconds so you'll never have to wait more than two minutes for your morning cup of java.
For what it's worth, the Solo does, in fact, still work with K-Cups (in case you feel like switching up your blend every once in a while). It's even got a built-in "pre-infusion" cycle that'll soak them gently before brewing for deeper flavor.
Note that the Solo was also selling for $79.95 on the Instant Brands website the last time we checked, but Amazon easily one-upped its five- to seven-day shipping timeframe with its offer of free next-day delivery.
